As an LED display screen used for outdoor advertising, it has much higher requirements for the usage environment than ordinary displays. During the use of outdoor LED display, due to different environments, it is often affected by high temperature, typhoon, rainstorm, thunder and lightning and other bad weather. What precautions should we take to keep the display safe in bad weather?
1、 High temperature protection
Outdoor LED display screens usually have a large area and consume a lot of power during application, which corresponds to a large amount of heat dissipation. In addition, with high external temperatures, if the heat dissipation problem cannot be solved in a timely manner, it is likely to cause problems such as circuit board heating and short circuits. In production, ensure that the display circuit board is in good condition, and try to choose a hollow design when designing the shell to help dissipate heat. During installation, it is necessary to adhere to the condition of the device and ensure that the ventilation of the display screen is good. If necessary, add heat dissipation equipment to the display screen, such as adding an air conditioner or fan internally to help the display screen dissipate heat.
2、 Typhoon prevention
The installation positions and methods of outdoor LED display screens vary, including wall mounted, embedded, column mounted, and suspended. So during the typhoon season, there are strict requirements for the load-bearing steel frame structure of the outdoor LED display screen in order to prevent it from falling off. Engineering units must strictly follow the standards for typhoon resistance in design and installation, and also have certain seismic resistance to ensure that outdoor LED display screens do not fall and cause harm such as personal injury or death.
3、 Rainstorm prevention
There are many rainy weather conditions in the south, so LED display screens themselves need to have a high level of waterproof protection to avoid being eroded by rainwater. In outdoor use environments, the outdoor LED display screen should reach IP65 protection level, and the module should be sealed with glue. A waterproof box should be selected, and the module and box should be connected with waterproof rubber rings.
4、 Lightning protection
1. Direct lightning protection: if the outdoor LED large screen is not within the direct lightning protection range of nearby tall buildings, Lightning rod shall be set at or near the top of the screen steel structure;
2. Inductive lightning protection: The outdoor LED display screen power system is equipped with level 1-2 power supply lightning protection, and signal lightning protection devices are installed on the signal lines. At the same time, the power supply system in the computer room is equipped with level 3 lightning protection, and signal lightning protection devices are installed on the equipment ends of the signal outlet/inlet in the computer room;
3. All LED display screen circuits (power and signal) should be shielded and buried;
4. The front end of the outdoor LED display screen and the Earthing system of the machine room should meet the system requirements. Generally, the front end grounding resistance should be less than or equal to 4 ohms, and the machine room grounding resistance should be less than or equal to 1 ohm.
